First-Aid-Course

The first aid course enables you to safely provide first aid in the event of a traffic accident or an accident at work. In addition, in the event of medical emergencies, taking the right and necessary measures quickly. This course is obligatory for drivers license holders in switzerland.

Apply for a learner's permit

Fill out the learner vehicle application if you want to receive a category. 

You must fill out the learner driving application to receive all categories (even if a learner driving license is not required for this - for example for category M).

That's how it's done:

After you have submitted your learner driving application, you will receive a letter from the road traffic office with the access data for online registration for the theory test.

You do not have to take a basic theory test if you already have a category A1, A, B1 or B driver's license.

VKU

The traffic education course (VKU) is compulsory. It comprises a total of 8 lessons and costs between 180 and 280 francs. In the VKU, the sense of traffic and the feeling of danger are sharpened, which should motivate a defensive, considerate driving style.

Pass the practical exam

After completing the practical driving training at your driving school, you can register for the practical driving test. Your driving instructor will normally do this for you. Otherwise, online registration is also possible.
Attention: Register early, all dates are often fully booked a few weeks in advance. After registering, you will receive a binding appointment confirmation. We're keeping our fingers crossed for you!

Mandatory further training (WAB course)

Since January 1, 2020, the previous two WAB days have been merged into one compact day.

Learn to recognize and avoid dangerous situations, experience emergency braking, distance and cornering on closed slopes and become aware of your behaviour on the road.

Optimize your perception of traffic and learn to drive ecologically and economically.

The WAB course must be completed within 12 months of passing the driving test.
